While this isn't as solid as the other
P.F. Sloan collections, the concept is interesting, combining some of his most famous solo performances with five songs that were credited to
the Grass Roots in the mid-'60s, but were for most intents and purposes
Sloan performances. You can avoid this confusing approach by getting the
Grass Roots' Where Were You When I Needed You? CD and
Sloan's first two LPs. But those original
Sloan albums are pretty hard to come by these days, meaning that our choices are largely limited to relatively pathwork compilations such as these.
