Christine and
Scott Dente met while studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where they began to perform in small clubs with
Christine on vocals and
Scott playing guitar. After getting married, the duo recorded a self-titled debut album which introduced their dreamy alternative pop sound.
Out of the Grey was pushed into the spotlight in 1993 by a national tour with
Peacock, four CCM Top 20 singles from their second album
The Shape of Grace, and a readers' poll in CCM Magazine which voted the group second-best new artist. In 1994,
Christine recorded Down the Road with
Susan Ashton and
Margaret Becker.
Out of the Grey's third album,
Diamond Days, also appeared that year; it was followed in 1995 by
GraVity. Remember This: The Out of the Grey Collection 1991-1998 appeared three years later.
