<rss xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" version="2.0"><channel xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"><title>Truro Local News</title><link>http://www.catcountry995.ca/news/home.aspx</link><description></description><language>en-us</language><copyright>Copyright 2013, CKTO-FM</copyright><lastBuildDate>Mon, 20 May 2013 13:43:13 GMT</lastBuildDate><generator>http://emmisinteractive.com</generator><item xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"><title>THREE HONOURED FOR SAVING NEW GLASGOW MAN'S LIFE</title><description>&lt;img src="http://www.bigdog1009.ca/Pics/Channels/4646/Thumbnail/jardine-medals.jpg" align="left" vspace="2" hspace="10"&gt;&lt;p&gt;Three people who helped save the life of a 30-year-old New Glasgow man with muscular dystrophy have been honoured with medals and certificates.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On July 5th, 2011, Jamie Jardine's motorized wheelchair hit a pothole on the Samson Trail and went out of control, sending him tumbling over the side of a bank and into the East River.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Barbara Smith was given the Royal Canadian Humane Association&amp;rsquo;s Honorary Testimonial Certificate for seeking help for Jardine after being the first person on scene.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Donald Gunton and New Glasgow Constable Anthony Thomas were awarded the association's Medal of Bravery for rescuing Jardine from the East River.&lt;/p&gt;
