I'm amazed at the negativity surrounding road conditions, road crews, D.O.T, buses and everything in between...The DOT, Town of Truro, Village of Bible Hill and every other work crew work around the clock to DO THEIR BEST to keep roads as safe as possibly, but it's never enough...apparently the weather conditions are never the issue...Maybe a little thank you could be in order for the people on call 24 hours a day instead of being so frickin' ungrateful...I certainly could NOT do what those workers do...and in the words of a co-worker this morning...if you feel it's unsafe for your children, you have the power to keep them home. I know it's a brief rant, but it's too the point..and it really stems from the negative nellies that post their opinion on facebook. It really drives me crazy, the negativity I mean, as always everyone is entitled to their ...

Christmas with mischievous Dogs...

Well, I should be clear, Christmas with one Mischievous dog....a St.Bernard named Pickles....Pickles is now 3 and a big ol' loveable giant sack of fluffy fur....but there's clearly some puppy left in her....I put the tree up on Saturday, which is unusual, simply because I usual put it up in November(yes I get that excited about Santa) Anyhoo, Husband and I were out for a couple of hours on Sunday and sometimes when we go, and leave her home with the other 3 animals she has a bit of a fit and takes something of ours to bed, like a slipper, or a fav shoe....she doesn't really destroy anything as much as she goobs on those things....this time though, she actually took 3 ornaments off the tree and an ornament off my garland over the fireplace...she took a Santa ornament to the bed, and left 3 ornaments on the couch ...

regifting....okay or not okay?

Apparently, from what I've read lately, regifting is becoming more than a passing fancy.....and did you know there's actually regifting etiquette? True story!! I think that it's fair to say that most of us have things in our homes that we've never used, whether it be wedding gifts that weren't quite right for you, Christmas gifts , shower gifts, birthday gifts and whatever other holiday brings you things to rip and tear....now, the etiquette peeps suggest that if you chose to regift, tread lightly...there are rules to follow, such as it shouldn't have the packaging removed...you should never have used it ever.....don't regift the gift with original receipt or actual bag from the store....so tell me, would you or have you regifted? I've been tempted, there's been things that I've received over the years that I KNOW FOR A FACT may suit someone else better, but yet I keep it ...

My experience with Bad Customer service..GONE GOOD!!!!

You may remember a few weeks ago I had a bit of a troubling experience with a staff member at a courthousew when I wanted to pay a fine...The blog I had written had made it's way to a supervisor and the supervisor called me to see if I'd be available to come in for an apology, I agreed, but I absolutely had butterflies in my tummy with regard to an upcoming meeting...That meeting was this morning, with the staff member that I had the interaction with and 2 supervisors...Now I have to be completely honest...yep, I was nervous and when I'm nervous I'm chatty, so there was a couple of moments of regular conversation(which was delightful-in all seriousness) and then we got to the matter at hand at the request of the staff member....She apologized profusely, remembered the interaction, made no bones about the fact that it was her responsibility and ...

The mis-adventures of Miss Pickles

On the weekends I usually plan half a day to clean the entire house, top to bottom....I really need to do it more often simply because of the amount of hair and dirt a big and little dog, and 2 cats can accumulate....so today I went home at lunch to get ahead of my usual routine....I don't want to spend a whole half day cleaning when I could get it done tonight and truly relax ALL WEEKEND....so at lunch I proceeded to change the bed(nothing better than getting into clean, wonderful smelling sheets) I had just let Pickles(big St.Bernard) and Girlie(lil cranky girl) outside, they frolicked a bit, and were happy to come back inside...I didn't even think to wipe their feet, and next thing I knew...there was a kerfuffle and the big pup with slightly muddy paws had herself a little party on my clean white sheets...I have to ...

My Experience with GOOD Customer Service

My husband is one of those fellas that's always into a project of sorts, whether it be building his garage, tinkering with vehicles, some sort of construction, he's into something, and with that comes minor injuries...he was grinding something the other day and even though had the correct protective gear on, some steel managed to get into his eye...he thought he'd be able to deal and maybe it would come out itself but I insisted we go to out patients immediately....I certainly don't think you should mess around with eye problems...ANYWAY..to out patients we go....I had called to see how busy it was(where it was Halloween I thought it could be busy) and was told that they don't give wait times, but that it wasn't very busy and to come right away....the lady that I had spoken to was professional and polite...it really wasn't busy as far as the waiting area goes, ...

My experience with BAD Customer Service...

While I'm well aware that people have bad days, myself included, I try to be the very best that I can be when I'm dealing with someone throughout the day...besides, even when you are bummed out, to see a smile, can whip around that "bad Tude" in a jiffy. Yesterday I had to go pay a fine(oops). While I presented a smile to someone who already appeared to be in a bad mood, I was met with nothing but disrespect and a rude disposition. I had mentioned that I only wanted to pay a portion of the fine, not all and was told with an almost snarky response that because it was out of the county a portion of the fine couldn't be paid....I had mentioned that an individual had told me that I could pay a portion and she and actually huffed "well who was that"? Lately I've found that facebook and some comments or incredibly negative...those of you on facebook would totally understand what I mean. Alot of people use it to release work frustrations from the day, maybe a bad review of how a company or store treated you, perhaps political issues are your thing, gas prices, local flood problems, who to blame for something, anything, it's really been a bummer lately though...but some people have realized that maybe facebook isn't the best place to launch those negative thoughts, facebook for me is a way to keep connected with friends and family far away or hard to see because of work and time constraints...I love keeping up to date with people, see their growing families and fun times....although I must say one thing, if we're friends on facebook, and I ...
