My Experience with GOOD Customer Service
My husband is one of those fellas that's always into a project of sorts, whether it be building his garage, tinkering with vehicles, some sort of construction, he's into something, and with that comes minor injuries...he was grinding something the other day and even though had the correct protective gear on, some steel managed to get into his eye...he thought he'd be able to deal and maybe it would come out itself but I insisted we go to out patients immediately....I certainly don't think you should mess around with eye problems...ANYWAY..to out patients we go....I had called to see how busy it was(where it was Halloween I thought it could be busy) and was told that they don't give wait times, but that it wasn't very busy and to come right away....the lady that I had spoken to was professional and polite...it really wasn't busy as far as the waiting area goes, but I'm under no illusions that they aren't swamped in the areas that I can't see....I really had no expectations about our wait, we were noticed immediately, through triage and getting registered and everyone we dealt with was warm and friendly, and after waiting for a couple of hours a patient was called in before us, I say this because we were there prior to this patient and I also understand that patients are called in based on case and the care they require, but what pleased me so much, was the nurse that had called for this patient before my husband and she actually explained why he had been called first...I thought it was lovely on her part to make sure that Brian and I knew why he hadn't been called, but he would be soon and explain to us what was going on..she was lovely, the whole staff that we had interaction with were kind, courteous, warm and friendly...and I can't begin to imagine the stress that our Nursing staff, Paramedics, Doctors and any hospital or emergency care centre staff have to deal with on a daily basis and I just wanted them to know that their kindness, and their smiles didn't go unnoticed...I'm not saying I want to make visiting out patients a regular occurance, but I've gotta say, it certainly didn't ruin my night , plus they have a TV in the waiting room and I totally caught up on shows that I usually never stay awake for...yay!
