I'm not sure about you, but lots of days I've got my head in the clouds....and I can seem oblivious to what might be going on around me...but there are loads of things that are brought to my attention that make me think long and hard about volunteering, donating and just being there for our community and people in it....Tonight I will be the MC for the Canadian Blood Services while they honor their donators, and volunteers....so I thought, wow, I better find out a little more about Blood Donation....I actually tried to donate blood when I was in my early 20's, but apparently my system was still too immature(insert joke here), and I totally passed out, only being woken to eat a cookie and have some orange juice, so I did give some blood, but I never had the guts to give blood since and that was a super ...

Loyalty to your community...

It's been a long time since I've blogged...and shared an opinion, and this one is about where I currently live....here's a little background first...I spent some childhood in Belnan, when I was nine, the folks moved us  to the Annapolis Valley....I loved Belnan, from what I remember of it, and I loved the Annapolis Valley as well...in fact Truro reminds me of parts of the Valley that I adore...Now this is my second time in Truro, and again, I love it....but over the weekend I went to visit a friend in Pictou County, now most of my family is from Pictou County and as a youngster went there with Mom and Dad often to see their folks, so I love Pictou County as well...I just love everywhere I've been clearly..., anyway, while doing a little shopping in Pictou County a lovely woman started chatting with my friend and I, she ...

A Rant about the Road and again negativity...

Posted By: Angela Rose · 1/10/2013 3:05:00 PM

I'm amazed at the negativity surrounding road conditions, road crews, D.O.T, buses and everything in between...The DOT, Town of Truro, Village of Bible Hill and every other work crew work around the clock to DO THEIR BEST to keep roads as safe as possibly, but it's never enough...apparently the weather conditions are never the issue...Maybe a little thank you could be in order for the people on call 24 hours a day instead of being so frickin' ungrateful...I certainly could NOT do what those workers do...and in the words of a co-worker this morning...if you feel it's unsafe for your children, you have the power to keep them home. I know it's a brief rant, but it's too the point..and it really stems from the negative nellies that post their opinion on facebook. It really drives me crazy, the negativity I mean, as always everyone is entitled to their ...

Christmas with mischievous Dogs...

Posted By: Angela Rose · 12/18/2012 3:45:00 PM

Well, I should be clear, Christmas with one Mischievous dog....a St.Bernard named Pickles....Pickles is now 3 and a big ol' loveable giant sack of fluffy fur....but there's clearly some puppy left in her....I put the tree up on Saturday, which is unusual, simply because I usual put it up in November(yes I get that excited about Santa) Anyhoo, Husband and I were out for a couple of hours on Sunday and sometimes when we go, and leave her home with the other 3 animals she has a bit of a fit and takes something of ours to bed, like a slipper, or a fav shoe....she doesn't really destroy anything as much as she goobs on those things....this time though, she actually took 3 ornaments off the tree and an ornament off my garland over the fireplace...she took a Santa ornament to the bed, and left 3 ornaments on the couch ...

regifting....okay or not okay?

Posted By: Angela Rose · 12/5/2012 3:29:00 PM

Apparently, from what I've read lately, regifting is becoming more than a passing fancy.....and did you know there's actually regifting etiquette? True story!! I think that it's fair to say that most of us have things in our homes that we've never used, whether it be wedding gifts that weren't quite right for you, Christmas gifts , shower gifts, birthday gifts and whatever other holiday brings you things to rip and tear....now, the etiquette peeps suggest that if you chose to regift, tread lightly...there are rules to follow, such as it shouldn't have the packaging removed...you should never have used it ever.....don't regift the gift with original receipt or actual bag from the store....so tell me, would you or have you regifted? I've been tempted, there's been things that I've received over the years that I KNOW FOR A FACT may suit someone else better, but yet I keep it ...
