Keith Urban Concert Recap

For close to three hours, Keith Urban had the Metro Centre right where he wanted them, singing along. No big production, just Keith urban, the guys and the gear. And it was awesome.

Keith Urban played pretty much every song of his you know. I counted this morning, and he only didn’t play 6 hit singles from his 12 years as huge country star. And he didn’t take any breaks. No intermission, not long delays between songs. It was from one song straight into another. The longest “breaks” were to take photos and when his guitar was having some technical problems, but even then that was only a minute at most because he grabbed the acoustic guitar and took a request.

That’s one of the other impressive things about the show last night, how much fun he had with the crowd. Right near the beginning of the show, Keith spotted a sign and brought a man, his daughter and her grandmother up on stage to take a picture, they were from Vernon BC. Keith also spotted another sign from a couple that are going to be married on Saturday and decided to sing them Once In A Lifetime Love. He laid down at the edge of the stage at one point for some pictures with the front row (I thought he might get hauled off at one point), and had a sing along on Kiss A Girl. Keith picked out 3 people from crowd to come up and sing. Laura from Pictou County, TJ from Mount Uniacke and a little girl from Bouctouche. Each had a turn to sing the chorus to Kiss a Girl and then the crowd decided the winner. (The little girl from Bouctouche won). Keith Urban sang from the crowd twice, once on either side of the stadium including You Look Good In My Shirt, the last song. Or was it.

After saying good night Keith and his band went backstage but the audience wanted more, and they got it. Good thing too, if he didn’t come back out I don’t think the Metro Centre would be in one piece this morning.

Obviously a lot of the show is all about Keith Urban, but I can’t ignore his band. The 5 piece band was incredible. I always enjoy watching the band during live shows.

So there you have it, that’s the best I can do to sum up an amazing show. Now we just have to wait and see who’s next.

I to was able to enjoy the fantastic concert last nite thanks to Angela from Cat Country. You have the show pretty well summed up good Greg...One other thing I thought was amazing was when he was up in the crowd singing You Look Good In My Shirt, he signed his guitar and gave it away to a girl up there in the audiance. Such a wonderful crowd pleaser. It was the best concert I have ever been to see. Thanks once again Cat Country.
