The Bearcats and the Fred Page Cup
The Truro Bearcats are off to a perfect 3-0 start to the Maritime Hockey League season as they head to Woodstock tonight to play the Slammers. Truro has outscored its opposition 14-3 in those three games and are looking like a better offensive club that we've seen from this club in season's past.
During the Bearcats Insider this morning, Coach Shawn Evans sounded pretty pelased with how things are going and realizes tonight's game is going to be a big measuring stick for his players.
One topic we weren't able to fit into the Insider this week was the Fred Page Cup. Truro is hosting the Eastern Canadian Junior A Championship next spring, which gives the club a spot as the host no matter how they do this year. There's always a bit of added pressure because of that, so I asked Evans about how that affected his off-season.
