Mandy's Musings

Buying a BBQ SHOULD be simple...

The hubby and I are in the market for a new BBQ. We've been talking about replacing ours for a while now, but, earlier this week, a piece of the BBQ actually fell off, so, time to replace it! I just didn't realize it was going to be such a process.

The hubby's been scouring flyers for weeks, but, has ramped up efforts this week. We've been out to one store, where I stood impatiently shuffling my feet, as Brett closely examined EVERY SINGLE BBQ, comparing them to what we have, as well as to each other. Three burners or four? Side burner or not? Stainless steel or not? He's even taken to researching them online, reading reviews and such. Plus, he's planned an afternoon BBQ hunt for this afternoon, in which we get to go to multiple stores and examine BBQs.

*sigh*

It's just a BBQ. I don't understand why it takes so much effort to pick one. I spent less time picking my wedding dress than Brett has looking for "the" BBQ. I'm hoping he'll be happy to go BBQ-hunting solo, and let me off the hook, because I just don't understand why there has to be so much fuss over a piece of equipment we're going to use to cook a few hot dogs.

It's a man thing, isn't it?

Please don't let Brett come home with something like this...
