The victim of a New Year's hit & run says she guesses she's satisified with the sentence handed down to the man who left her paralyzed from the waist down, and confined to a wheelchair.

24 year old Holly Grue says she would have liked to see Ryan Harvey McLellan go to prison for a longer time, but, adds, at least he's going to prison.

Grue was walking along Highway 2 in Economy in the early morning hours of January 1st, when she was hit by a vehicle driven by McLellan.

McLellan has been sentenced to 41 months in custody for the hit & run, as well as a police chase through Truro over the summer in a stolen truck.

The sentence was laid in Truro Provincial Court Thursday by Judge Warren Zimmer, who also ordered restitution to Grue of nearly $88,000 and has prohibited the Economy man from driving for 8 years, once released from prison.
